My New Beanie and Booties

Okay, I really couldn't resist sticking these in there. My friend Tanya made these matching booties and beanie for baby Kayla (thanks Tanya!). I was so excited to try them on her and when I did I couldn't stop taking pictures. In the beanie picture Kayla was on the floor playing, flexing her legs out and laughing. She looks so cute in pink!! Kissable.
The beanie is also a plus because Kayla becomes more bald every day. We call her slick. I'm sure her poor head gets cold!

She's a Gift From Heaven

Having a baby has been a big adjustment! I have been accustomed to living a life of adventure always succeeding in the workplace, achieving good grades in college and thriving on always having a book or project I am working on. When Kayla was born I was surprised at how much I could love such a little tiny thing. I have come to truly realize that this is what I am meant to do. Just love and take care of this little baby. Sometimes I look at her when she is sleeping like this picture and tears fill my eyes. I am awe struck that heaven has entrusted me with this little gem!

Our Very First Adventure

Sean and I met in English Class. In speaking to eachother, we discovered we both love to rockclimb. Our first date was at the Quarry Rock Climbing Gym. Soon after that we had our first adventure. We set out to summit Lone Peak. Sean said he didn't think any girl could ever do a narly hike like that but he obviously didn't know what Humboldt County girls were made of! About ten hours into the hike we reached the top, victory at last! The last three miles had been some intense scrambling up large boulders between steep snow patches. On that hike we learned that we had more to talk about than we could have imagined. From music to missions. Thus started our many adventures together. We have hiked miles in the pitch dark after our flashlight went out. We once came accross a herd of elk when still four miles from the trailhead at eleven PM. While one of our Timp hikes we found a dead horse! And the stories go on. What an adventure it has been. We always seem to find it somehow. I thought I would include these pictures as they are the very first pictures we have ever been in together. These are the same pictures I emailed to all my sisters and mom to show them this "really cute guy I had been hanging out with" back in May of 2004. The best first date I have ever been on!

What a great view...

I Love My Cousin

It is sooo cute the way that Ruby and Grace (My sister's Sarah's Kids) love Kayla. When I go to Sarah's house Ruby usually says " Ah howd bee bee pweez" and reaches her arms out toward her. Grace loves holding her too. Sarah and I decided that one day Kayla will recipricate that love but for now she does pretty well tolerating their over attentive hands always wanting to lovingly poke her.
Okay there is something I have to admit, I like taking the pictures because the post pregnancy baby "love" is still slowly coming off, causing an urg not to be in them. I have been asked by a few people to post a family photo so I cowboyed up and posed for the camera. Here we are the three "muskateers" aka the Shenanigans..

Life is Good

Every time I come across someone I know they look at Kayla and say "Wow, she is beautiful, she looks just like Sean!" My internal reactions are usually 'geez doesn't she have something of mine?' It has been said that God made little girls look like their dads so their dads would love them, well He's done a pretty good job this time because I must admit, she is a spitting image of her daddy!!
