Full House

Kayla continues to be a pleasant happy little girl. She thrives off of her "somewhat" structured schedule and still sleeps for 8 to 9 hours at night before she needs to eat. She has audible giggles now and what a joy to see her smiles turn to laughs.
Sarah and her family stayed with us for a couple of days in between moves and what a great time we had. In this picture the three girls are laying in front of the TV watching the Little Mermaid. It seems that Gracie and Kayla are interested in the movie and Ruby is all about the camera spotlight!

While the Smylies were staying with us, Sean had a birthday. Grace was really excited to be at Sean's "birthday party" which was really just a pancake breakfast and opening a few gifts before church. As you can see Grace lacks nothing in the way of giving the attention to the birthday boy. She swiftly jumped on the couch and nestled her way right in between Sean and I, she is such a fun little niece!

One of Grace's favorite things about being here is that she had a whole new mass of shoes to wear. She would always find a pair of my shoes and wear them around, as if they fit her perfectly. The day they left she thought she better put a pair of my boots on since she was about to do some heavy lifting!

What a Cutie!!

I do not know if any of you agree, but I do believe this is the cutest picture I have ever seen in my entire life. This little girl is my joy. Her newest thing is her bedtime ritual. I get her ready for bed and lay her down awake. She will lay there for about 20 minutes staring at the wall and trying to wiggle her legs inside her swaddle. We will then hear her begin to make squeeking noises. After a little bit I will go in there and say "sweetheart, it's time to sleep." As soon as she sees my face she puts on the biggest smile. I melt every time. This will happen about two times before she goes to bed. The best part is that we never need to pick her up, just remind her it's bedtime and tell her we love her.. just one more time.

Blessing Day

This wasn't set up to impress, he really does change daipers.. every day! I love how tiny she looks compared to her daddy, it's adorable!

Kayla had her Father's Blessing on Sunday. It was so awesome to hear Sean give her a blessing and hear all the things in words that we desire so much for her in life. Before we know it she will be eight and wearing her baptism dress. That blessing dress will seem so tiny then.

Isaac and The Dog

I have a little brother named Isaac. He is ten years old. Isaac is a very brave boy with lots of energy. There is one thing, however that scares the heck out of him: Dogs. He has now been attacked twice and bitten right in the.. eh em.. bum. And now he has been attacked again. This time the dog did not bite him, but attemped to right before a heroic act by his sister, Naomi. Poor Isaac was traumatized all day. Here is the story told from the man's own mouth:
Isaac: "I was almost bitten by a dog this morning. Like Elder V (serving in our ward who had a dog encounter story in Tonga, his home), I felt like booting him right in the jaw, but when I was about to, Naomi chucks her keys at the dog (I didn’t know) and all I hear is the dog yelp and run off. Naomi’s keys had hit the dog. Meanwhile I’m crying, well pretty much screaming. I can hardly eat so I last on three Wheat Thins until 12:30. Oh, the dog’s name is Rascal. Why am I not surprised?"
Even though I feel that it is dreadful this has happened, something about this story told by Isaac makes me laugh, hard. It might have something to do with the Wheat Thins!

The Brother of Jared

My little brother Gideon just went into the MTC last week. Gideon is the middle boy in the family. He is a number of things, the "peace maker", the "comedian", "Jared's right hand man", "Mr. Suave", a "lover of the otter pops", "video game goo roo", "life of the party", "Katie's boyfriend", and much much more. Whatever he may be to each of us, we will miss him dearly and know the Atlanta Georgia Mission will NEVER be the same! We love ya Gid!!

Okay, obviously there is something that Kayla thinks is really really funny. One of the best things about a baby's smile is that it is always genuine. Us adults, we smile because it's polite, or it's the appropriate thing to do. Babies, on the other hand, only smile when they are happy.
