A Dozen Red Roses...

June 13th, 2005:
Sean took me for a drive up to Brighton, where we love to snowboard. We had done this drive a number of times. As we checked out the Millie lift and examined the great amount of snow still left, Sean told me to close my eyes. I did so and he went and grabbed something from the car. It was a big bouquet of red roses. He said "Hannah, I promised myself that I would never give a girl a dozen roses unless she is going to be my wife." He handed me the bouquet and said "Here are 11 red roses." I was a little puzzled at this point, why 11? Then he reached down and picked up a single white rose and handed it to me. Then he got down on one knee and asked me if I would be his wife.
Since that day, a dozen roses have always meant a lot to me. This is the day the little D Fam started! For Valentine's day this year, Sean had a dozen red roses delivered to my work. My mind was brought back to that very special moment when I learned about Sean's promise to himself about a dozen roses. To me, this symbolizes so much more then the beauty of the roses themselves. The roses remind me of the deep friendship I share with me Love. It reminds me how truly blessed I am to have the Valentine I do.
Thank you Sean, Happy Valentine's Day!
