Remembering......

So I came here today to share a few pictures of my oldest sister's teenage pictures per her husbands request, or should I say DEMAND! :)

But as I was looking through the pictures I came across this picture of the car fire. Let me tell you the story.....

So Isaac came in to town to visit and Sean was gone with the Marines. I was about 7 months pregnant with Kayla. Miriam and I were in my Subaru and Gideon was driving his old Ford car with all of Miriam's belongings in it all ready for her mission. We were caravaning to Farmington from Provo. When Miriam and I were passing Salt Lake on I 15 Gideon called. "Uh, Hannah my car broke down." "Are you serious? which side of the road and where?" Just past Highway 89 on the left." Sure enough, there he was standing outside of his car staring at it. As I came closer I could see that the car was "smoking" which we thought was overheating at first glance. As we came closer, I realized that the car was on FIRE..... HELLO! I yelled at Gideon to get away from the car and that it was on fire. Miriam got out of my Subaru and said "Oh my gosh, my stuff, Gideon, get my stuff!" Gideon bravely grabbed all of Miriam's things out and moved them far away from the car. Smoke poured out from under the hood while I called 9-1-1. Suddenly the car was up in flames. Both sides of traffic stopped. People leapt out of their cars with fire extinguishers ready to help. As the car burned, I yelled for people to stay away because the fire was close to the gas tank. I was about to have a heart attack and Gideon and Miriam thought it was awesome. Miriam was raising her hands in the air saying "burn baby burn" like a freaking ARSENIST! I thought for sure it would explode but luckily it didn't. The fire department finally arrived and out the fire out. The whole car was charred. All that was left was a shell with a bunch of wires. Jared and Gideon split the towing cost to the dump and there was a lot of ride bumming for a while. Ever since then I haven't really looked at car fires the same. They now officially scare the crap out of me. I have to admit though, that makes for a great story!
