Point, Shoot and Score?

Well I know a lot of really great photographers look at my blog so don't laugh!
I am often bummed that I have to live my life as a mom of a beautiful girl with a point and shoot camera! I covet after my siblings' cameras. Well, I decided to try a few things this weekend with my dinky little camera with natural light. I had Kayla stand by the sliding door and look at the dogs and just kept snapping and snapping (I have a great example of looking out the window shots, my sister Sarah) Then I had her play with some toys on her bedroom window sill, thus, creating perfect opportunity for capturing some natural sunlight. I was surprised to see they turned out half decent!

Now for a little family update:

Sean is doing well in school and spending every moment he has studying. He has a follow up surgery on his left foot on Friday so I cannot tell you how excited I am to have my other half on crutches again, I can hardly wait. (yes you sensed the sarcasm appropriately) I am very proud of how hard he is working in school and he is such a great dad and husband.

I am taking two classes this semester, working full time, exercising on the elliptical every day, being a mom, holding a church calling and, honestly, I am okay.
I haven't had a complete breakdown thus far and I am getting good grades. I spend a lot of time with Kayla and get great quality time with Sean. We plan a date night every other week to keep us sane.

Kayla is undergoing her "language explosion" and repeats everything we say... yeah... it's really been keeping us in check with how we talk. She loves life. She is happy and energetic. She cannot stop moving. She loves to dance and run around the living room in circles and loves to where her Auntie Heather's high heal shoes. She is the biggest blessing in our life. Her new favorite things are "Tink Bell" AKA "Tinkerbell" and singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider"

We are doing our very best to keep everyday just as great or better then the one before. Especially with our struggling economy when we cannot be certain about many things, we can be certain of one, and that is, that we have each other.

I thank Heavenly Father every day for that.

There is no absence of energy around this home when Kayla is feeling wild and crazy!! She keeps all five adults on their toes watching her at all times and has us wrapped around her little finger over and over again! We love her sooo much. Hannah and Sean are great parents with lots of patience...Thank goodness. We love you all!!

Growing up, we made such wonderful times out of our absense of money. Always there were adventures, creations and talents expressed. With a small camera you continue to make magic. And someday when your path comes to that camera "to die for", you will look back and be so happy that you went ahead and used what you had to capture your little beauty so well. You have a gift, it shows in these portraits, for sure. I can only imagine what you will be like with a big camera! All my love and amazement.
