Welcome Baby Matilda

This weekend was a whirl of excitement. Sarah (my sister) went in to labor on Friday morning. She overcooked the little bun in the oven 5 whole days so everyone was waiting for it! She called me, as we had planned for me to watch her other three kids while she was at the hospital.

It was then that the weekend really started. We had so much fun! Kayla loves her cousins. When I say loves her cousins, I mean, every time she makes a wish it involves being able to play with her cousins, her cousins are in every single prayer she says, when she prays before dinner, she asks if she can go swimming with her cousins soon. She has known about the baby event and that it was coming. When I told her we were leaving, she was thrilled. The weekend was full of dress-up, hairdos, artwork, Youtube (where I learned about the Gummy Bear Song), the Wii, late bedtimes, some crying, more laughing, and plenty of hugs and snuggles. Really my ideal weekend. Some people may call me crazy for having fun babysitting 3 kids plus Kayla but it was nothing short of a blast, exhausting, but a blast none the less.

Grace: thanks for letting Kayla and I come over this weekend. You are so great and motherly to Kayla. This weekend I got to know you better. You are so smart and full of life. You pick up on everything. You are sensitive and kind, always looking out for your sisters and Kayla. You were so good to help me out this weekend. Matilda (and Ruby and Lillie) are lucky to have a big sister like you. Thanks Grace!

Ruby: You are quiet until I start to sing the lollipop song! I loved when you jumped right off that chair and sang every word as loud as you could! Thanks for playing the Wii with me, you taught me how to play the Sword slicing game, that was really fun. I think we need to go to McDonald's again sometime because it was so much fun. Thanks for letting me curl your hair on Sunday and braid it on Saturday, that was so fun! You and your sisters and cousin all looked like princesses. You were a great announcer for the dress-up show too! You are awesome Ruby!

Lillie: You are very intense. I think that will get you far in life. The one kid that I have heard of that may have been as intense was me! I know how you feel girl, way too big for your own skin! So many things you have to say and so many things you have to teach people. You are intense, indeed, but also so sweet. Thanks for all the snuggles!

Kayla: I missed our mommy and daughter time. When we are with your cousins, it's all about the cousins, I know! You were so good and tried so hard to mind your mommy. Thanks for playing so well with your cousins. You never even needed a time out the whole time! Good job pumpkin!

Matilda: What a wonderful family you have come in to. Your sisters could not stop talking about you and how cute you are. Your mommy sent lots of pictures with her cell phone so your sisters could see them. One of their favorites was a picture of you yawning. Your sisters will always look out for you no matter what, that is for sure. Thanks for being born this weekend, your mommy was getting a little tired and we had so much fun while you were at the hospital. Welcome to the world little Tildy!

Happy Meal: Thanks for feeding Kayla her last meal before she fell unconscious from exhaustion on the way home from her cousins.
