Not Sure What's Happening

Before I had children, I thought what every other person on earth thinks: "MY kids will NEVER act like that." or "I will not tolerate THAT behavior."

Now that I am a parent I see how pathetically wrong and prideful I was for thinking these things.

Kayla is a big giant spirit in a tiny body. She has passion, determination, and spunk that is too much for her own good. I could choose to take this passion and drive, break her down into a perfectly well behaved child. But this passion and drive is something I want to see blossom in to a perfectly successful adult. Boundaries and "time-outs" have been a big part of our lives, especially lately. How I love this girl. How my heart is overjoyed to be a parent and finally understand that kids come the way they are. Parenthood is a beautiful rewarding path thus far.

And oh so humbling.

Kayla is so full of personality, I'm sure it is a constant adventure raising her. I'm sorry you read my blog at a moment of weakness, I was pretty angry for the 30 minutes that post lasted. Sorry about that. We'd love to hang out sometime.
Way to go on the race!!!
