A Different Kind of Playdate

This year I wanted to have a Christmas party for kids.
Not just any Christmas party, but one that I could incorporate service in to.
After getting ideas, I decided to go with finding a family in need to provide Christmas presents for.
Each party guest was given an invitation with an assignment to bring a gift for one specific child that belonged to the family in need.
At the playdate party we played a game, read Christmas stories, and wrapped all the gifts that were brought by the guests. We talked about why we were doing this and where the gifts would go.
The kids understood and were willing to give.
Just thinking about all the giving hearts that went in to this project makes me so happy.
I have decided to make this a tradition. A new family every year.
I want to feel this way all of the time. Service is therapeutic.
By helping kids grasp and embrace the giving spirit of Christmas, we create a lifetime of caring.
My heart will forever be grateful for this experience.

If anyone would like to be invited to this event in future years and I missed getting you this year, please let me know!
