As we usher in the new year, there are a few strings attached. We plunge in to a mass of studying, clinical rotations, and Kayla's dance lessons. This is all to start the Monday after New Year's. We are excited and anxious to get started but enjoying this time we have to experience Christmas together. Kayla is thrilled about Santa's visit to soon take place. She speaks of him often and whenever I am frustrated with anything she says "mommy, don't be mad cause Santa is gonna bring you some presents, and you gonna be reeeeallllyyyy happy. okay mom, okay." I am then instantly cured of my frustration and can't even remember why I was stressed in the first place. She is a cure for most things like this.
We took Kayla to a dance recital on Monday night and she absolutely loved it. My friend owns the dance studio and Kayla will start lessons there the first week in January. I was blown away at the fact that Kayla was quiet through the whole performance (about 1.5 hours.) She danced in the isle a bit and tried to mimic the moves they were doing on stage. (good thing we were in the back.)
Christmas is a wonderful time of year. It is funny that in such a cold season, everything can seem so warm. Maybe it is because we attempt to surround ourselves with people we love, or maybe it's all the lights, perhaps it's the thermostat being cranked up. Whatever the reason, I love the warmth of the holidays. I hope that each of you are having a lovely holiday season. My wish is that this Christmas warmth, regardless of financial or family situation, reaches each of you this year.
May the magic of Christmas be with everyone!
Love, The Hannah, Sean and Kayla
