One of the most beautiful things about parenting is "firsts." The first step, the first word, the first birthday cake. What is even more exciting for me, is seeing Kayla experience learning experienced for the first time.
Today, we decided we would take Kayla out and fly a kite. Kayla is fascinated with kites but we had never actually flown one with her. Her and I went to the store this morning and picked one out. It then became the topic of conversation for the entire day until, after dinner, when we went to fly it. Kayla absolutely loved it. She had a death grip on the handle and spent the whole time with enthusiastic squeals and smiles.
What a fun memory which will forever be kept in my heart. I hope life can be this exciting for Kayla each time she learns and experiences new things.
I love you little missy, keep the spark of life alive forever.

On a side note, here is one of the most interesting conversations I have had with Kayla in a long time.

Kayla: "Mom, I might fart by your face, hahaha"
Me: "Kayla, that is not very nice, where did you hear that?"
Kayla: "From her."
Me: "Who?"
Kayla: "My brother."
Me: "Your brother?"
Kayla: "Yeah, from the village."
Me: (a long, blank stare)

Ummm... what the heck??!
