Youth

Yesterday was monumental.... I pulled the first official gray hair off of my head. I know, you may think this is not a big deal, but to me... it's important enough to blog about.
Made me think: am I staying young? The saying goes "You don't stop playing because you get old, you get old because you stop playing"

I have a lot to study for the pharmacology test in the morning.
Yet, after Kayla's dance class tonight, we stopped at Kohl's and looked at the pretty Christmas dresses. I even bought one because it was on sale and Kayla looked so beautiful in it.
Spontaneity makes me stay young.
Stress makes me feel old and worn out.
Laughter makes me feel young.
Studying leads to stress which makes me feel old and worn out.
I have to remember to keep living. Keep laughing. Keep staying young.
Even through nursing school!

I can totally relate.. While I was pregnant with Matilda I got my first real gray hair. I'd had a few in years before, but when I found that one when I was pregnant, I found another a week later, and then another a week or so after that. That's how I know it was real because they aren't going away this time!

Hannah, you are staying so young. Jake and I talk about how we are going to die. It's inevitable. And all we want to do is just have fun and feel happy in this life... keep our girls close to us while we ride the roller coaster.

Love you.

Hannah you are far from an old fart, that's for sure. But I hear you about the stress thing. I am a big worrier/stresser-outer. My family always teases me about it because in the 5th grade I got a big patch of gray hair on the back of my head! They all say it's because I stress myself out over too much stuff in life. I think all us Medley women will be kept young for a while as long as we keep having girls nights and laughing enough to counteract the stress of life. Love you Hannah, you're doing a great job!

ahh the gray hairs!!! Scotty has had them for quite sometime and I die my hair enough not to know;) But I think it is remarkable you've lasted this long.
Kayla is so lucky to have you for a mom, I bet she was in heaven over the dress. Keep staying young!

Hannah, school is hard. I thought graduate school was hard and I didn't even have a kid while I was doing it. It will be over before you know it, and you will feel so empowered by having a degree. Just think what a great example you are setting for Kayla. For what it's worth, I think you're one of the most personable, kind people I know. You are certainly not old!!
