Salt to Saint:
a cycling relay from Salt Lake City, UT to Saint George, Utah. 410 miles. 26 hours. Temperature ranged from 29 degrees to 98 degrees. Lots of climbing.
This was one of the coolest experiences of my whole life. It was hard but I am ready to do it again!
My team was so awesome. Here is a little about each one:

My team was so awesome. Here is a little about each one:
Marci: Strong. The best description of this woman is strong. A strong cyclist, strong mother and strong personality. There is not a tiny part of her that is feigned. She’s so genuine, so strong and so true to the person that she is. I wish there were more people in this world like you, Marci.
Tim: Funny. Tim seemed a little worried about offending anyone with his sarcastic edge. Sleep deprivation, 32 degree whether in shorts, and window paint spilling all over his new truck’s paint. Yet he remained; Happy in spite of it all. Still to make us all burst out in laughter with his quick wit. Thank you for your comic relief, you are awesome!
Eddy: Organized. Captain Ortiz. Before the race, his emails consisted of spreadsheets, lists, elevation information and the Race Bible. He is always laughing and has a zest for life. He kept going and going and going until..... he fell asleep...... for a long time. Apparently he goes unconscious when he tries to show up for a 26 hour race after going to work at 5 AM that morning. Thanks for heading the operation Eddy, what a great time.
Ryan: The Secret Weapon. Ryan is a cyclist that seems to be able to do anything. He took on the hardest hill of the race and made it look easy. The rest of the riders watched him in wonder as he flew past the pack and led the race. Our team was in first place for the first 4 hours because of our secret weapon, Ryan. His strength and capabilities are out of this world!
Rachel: Encouraging. Hanging out of the passenger side window, yelling out things like “good job, you are doing awesome, are you okay?” I was so nervous about my first leg of the race. She made me feel so great and comfortable. She was like a sister, the one that puts her arm around you and tells you that you can do anything. She flew up the hill on her part of the race. Even chased by dogs in the middle of the night, she was still strong and fearless. Thanks for all your help Rachel, from the encouragement riding through Manti all the way to pouring water down my back at the finish line in 98 degree whether. I am so lucky to be on your team.
Victor: Cousin. Thanks for going and asking me to be on the team. I had so much fun. When I saw you out there and it was 32 degrees outside, I was not excited about going out there after your leg. I was dreading it. Now that it’s done, I am so glad we both were able to experience the bitter cold of the Utah mountains on a bike. What a great experience. This is something we will remember and talk about forever.
Erin: Sweet. Riding down the road behind the other vehicle, suddenly something came flying off and landed on the highway. I ran to pick it up. Erin and Eddy’s video camera. I called Erin on the radio, delivering the bad news. Erin responded, sweetly, “okay, thanks for letting us know.” Perhaps she was upset. Though, always sweet. Erin, thanks for always being motivated and happy. You are so fun to be around.
Hannah: Well that’s me but I don’t want to leave me out, I was on the team! All I can say is that I gave it 100%. Every hill I climbed, I took it one pedal turn at a time. I had a great team cheering me on, I had some hard climbs and I pedaled when it was 29 degrees outside and when it was 98 degrees outside. I think I prefer the colder one. I can’t wait till next year!
